Rock Sound & In The City Presents
Sunday, 5th October, Cellar Vie, Manchester 9:30 p.m. http://www.inthecity.co.uk/showscreen.php?site_id=30&screentype=folder&screenid=526 www.rocksound.tv 9.30pm TO THE BONES Imagine The Pixies tackling Queens Of The Stone Age, all skewed pop melodies, pounding drums and agitated guitar work and that's what we're led to expect from Manchester's To The Bones - having already received mentions in NME, Rock Sound and The Fly. 10.15pm VESSELS Experimental rock band (Martin Teff, Tim Mitchell, Tom Evans, Lee J. Malcolm, Peter Wright) who formed in 2005, and have since played over 100 gigs including the Leeds and Latitude festivals, released two 7"/download singles, one download-only single & recorded a full length album. 11.00pm THE COMPUTERS Carrying a deep love for bands such as Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Germs and The Nerve Agents aswell as The Clash, Chuck Berry and anti rock ‘n’ roll such as Elvis Costello & The Attractions, and despite being a band for only a short time, The Computers have racked up Radio 1 airplay and a load of glowing national press in the past 12 months. They will release a mini album on Fierce Panda in November. 11.45pm ATTACK! ATTACK! Taking influences from 80s punk, 90s grunge, pop rock and new wave (everything from Stereophonics to AC/DC, The Police, The Ramones, and the Sex Pistols), and powering a sound that they call “no frills or bullshit... just honest, melodic and rocking”, Attack! Attack! have been playing sold out headline shows and high profile supports across the UK – their debut album is out on Monday 6th October.
